Meaningful Engagement

George Washington High School now offers tutoring or Meaningful Engagement sessions. Meaningful Engagement is an afterschool program designed to help students learn and recover class time.
Why this matters
- If a student reaches 18 absences in any class/ period, they are at risk of automatically failing that class/ period.
- Both excused and unexcused absences count.
- However, that student can earn time back via Meaningful Engagement (for every 3 hours that student attends meaningful learning sessions, one absence will be converted into Meaningful Engagement).
When & where
- Mondays thru Thursdays, 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm (rotating schedule)
- Sessions will be held in room W-107
- Cycle: 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off
- No sessions on days when school is not in session
- Refreshments and transportation provided
How to join
- To sign up for Meaningful Engagement click here to download the registration form. The form must be completed by a parent or guardian. Print it, complete it and return it to Room W-105B.
Expectations
- George Washington High School will not tolerate disruptive behavior. All Danville Public Schools rules and consequences apply during sessions.
