Shavonna Russell

My name is Ms. Russell, and I am proud to be a science teacher here at George Washington High School. I graduated from Halifax County High School. After high school, I earned my degree in Biology and Chemistry from Averett University, which deepened my love for science and inspired me to share that passion with the next generation.

I currently teach Environmental Science to high school students. My goal in the classroom is to get every student actively involved in learning and to create a safe, respectful space where everyone feels valued. I believe that science should be hands-on, engaging, and connected to the real world, so I design lessons that allow students to explore, ask questions, and make discoveries.
